Blind Boys of Alabama with Charlie Musselwhite

Thursday, February 6, 2003
8 pm, Campbell Hall

“The Boys sing with a passion and spirit that will make even nonbelievers say hallelujah.”
—People

“Musselwhite plays some of the most compelling blues on the planet.”
—Downbeat

Since 1939 The Blind Boys have thrilled religious and secular audiences with irresistible, inspirational gospel songs. Winners of a 2001 Grammy Award, these legendary singers bring audiences to their feet with their potent “James Brown does gospel” style performances. Harmonica player Charlie Musselwhite, who learned his blues alongside Little Walter, Sonny Boy Williamson and Big Joe Williams in Chicago, is the heir to the big city blues harp tradition.
