Ballet Hispanico

Friday & Saturday, February 21 & 22, 1003
8 pm, Campbell Hall

“Even when they were cool, they were hot.”
—Miami Herald

This vibrant, flamboyant troupe reflects the diversity of the Spanish-speaking world, performing dances in ballet, contemporary, jazz and ethnic styles. Founded in 1970 by Artistic Director Tina Ramirez, Ballet Hispanico has commissioned over 70 new works from choreographers of international stature such as George Faison, Ann Reinking, Ramón Oller and Pedro Ruiz. “When Ballet Hispanico’s dancers take the stage, watch out,” insists New York Newsday. “Their joy is infectious.” Stay after the performance for a Meet-the-Artists discussion.

Presented in association with the Santa Barbara Mariachi Festival

$28, 25 / UCSB Students $19, 16

Sponsored by AT&T Wireless, Valley Voice, and La Nueva 94.5 FM
